Being webbed has the same effect as being held, except that it has no explicit cure. The attacks that cause it tend to make it vulnerable to Dispel Magic though, and it's possible to become immune to it. Several traps use it, notoriously in Cloakwood Nest.

Gameplay

• Being webbed in combination with being Poisoned is very deadly and a tactic often applied by Ettercaps. Antidote potions cannot be applied and a healer is likely to become webbed themselves, before being able to get into touch range to cure the poison or heal.
• Free Action will prevent getting webbed, but does not cure it if already affected. The character has to wait for the next round to become free.
• Remove Paralysis does not remove web.
• Since web is usually caused by a magical effect, it can be cured with Dispel Magic on that character, but the next round it can be applied again if still in the area.
• Magic resistance can block the web spell and the web traps. So can a Minor Globe of Invulnerability.
• Webbed is implemented by Opcode 157. This code is always associated with a web animation, unless the creature is protected / immune to 157. Although technically unnecessary, Web attacks, spells, traps, wands and innate abilities that discharge webbing also add Opcode 109 Hold/Paralysis to go along with 157. This dual Opcode implementation occurs more frequently in EE games than the original series.
